초록
South Korea faces population decline and extinction due to low birth rates andrapid aging. These issues stem from various factors including economic burdens, lack of
work-life balance, educational pressures, and the need for greater female participation
in society. Aging population leads to a shrinking workforce and increased strain on
healthcare and pension systems, while population decreases in rural and small urban
areas contribute to regional economic decline. In response, government and societal
efforts are necessary to boost fertility rates, address aging, and promote balanced
regional development. Specific policies should focus on enhancing childbirth and
parenting support, improving the quality of life for the elderly, and encouraging
relocation and settlement in provincial areas. A comprehensive and multifaceted
approach should not only offer economic benefits but also involve social perception
changes and cultural barrier removal, effectively tackling the issue of population
extinction through policies that promote equitable regional growth.
