Military Manpower Reduction Low Birth Rate Aging Population Defense Reform Military Innovation

초록

This study aims to analyze the problem of military manpower reduction in South
Korea from various perspectives and explore sustainable response strategies. Demographic
changes due to low birth rates and an aging population have a direct impact on securing
military personnel, posing a significant threat to national security. This study diagnoses the
causes and effects of the military manpower reduction and presents effective countermeasures
through the analysis of domestic and international cases. Military innovation and technological
advancement, sustainable development through defense reform, and the formation of social
consensus were proposed as key strategies. This study is expected to promote a comprehensive
understanding of the military manpower reduction problem in South Korea and contribute to
the establishment of future-oriented defense policies.
