This study addresses the importance and activation strategies of public
participation in the urban regeneration process. Public participation is a crucial element
for the success of urban regeneration projects, reflecting the needs and priorities of the
community, and contributing to the project's acceptability and sustainability. Through
literature review, this research examines various activation strategies such as strategies
to encourage public participation, community-based approaches, and the use of digital
tools, and identifies challenges and obstacles in the public participation process.
Furthermore, it presents policy recommendations for effective public participation and
strategies for future-oriented urban regeneration. The study discusses limitations and
future research directions, emphasizing the need for further exploration of the
applicability and effectiveness of public participation strategies in regions with diverse
cultural and economic backgrounds.
