A Study on the Preference for Large Corporations among Korean Youth: Focusing on Socio-cultural and Economic Factors

This study analyzes the preference for large corporations among Korean youth, focusing on socio-cultural and economic factors. Through a literature review, the complex aspects of this phenomenon and its impacts are comprehensively examined. The results show that economic factors such as wage gap and job security between large and small-medium enterprises, and socio-cultural factors including collectivism, academic cliquism, and familism reinforce the preference for large corporations. This concentration on large firms may lead to side effects such as labor market polarization and imbalance in the industrial ecosystem. However, changes in the values of the recent young generation have also brought about shifts in the unilateral trend of large corporation preference. To address the youth employment issue, a balanced approach should be taken through measures such as strengthening support for SMEs, improving the education system, promoting flexible responses by companies, and stimulating social discussions.참고문헌 (0)
