초록

본 연구는 한국 해군의 림팩(RIMPAC) 훈련 참여와 청해부대 파병 경험이 어떻게 상호작용하며 대양작전능력 향상에 기여하는지를 분석하였다. 1990년대 이후 한국 해군은 연안해군에서 대양해군 으로의 전환을 모색해왔으며, 이 과정에서 림팩 훈련을 통한 다국적 합동작전 능력 배양과 청해부대의 실전 파병 경험이 핵심적 역할을 수행했다. 림팩 훈련에서 습득한 연합 지휘체계 운용과 표준화된 전 술은 청해부대의 해외파병 임무 수행에 실질적으로 기여했으며, 반대로 청해부대의 실전 경험은 림팩 훈련의 시나리오와 전술교범 개선에 영향을 미쳤다. 이러한 상호보완적 관계는 한국 해군의 독자적 교 리 발전과 국제 해양안보 협력 강화에 중요한 토대가 되었다.

This study analyzes how the Republic of Korea Navy’s participation in RIMPAC exercises and the Cheonghae Unit’s deployment experience interact to enhance its blue-water operations capability. Since the 1990s, the ROK Navy has sought to transform from a coastal navy to a blue-water navy, with RIMPAC exercise participation fostering multinational joint operation capabilities and the Cheonghae Unit providing vital deployment experience. The combined command system operation and standardized tactics acquired through RIMPAC exercises have substantially contributed to the Cheonghae Unit’s overseas deployment missions. Conversely, the Unit’s combat experience has influenced RIMPAC exercise scenarios and tactical doctrine improvements. This complementary relationship has established a crucial foundation for developing the ROK Navy’s independent doctrine and strengthening international maritime security cooperation.
